Vimeo Awards Action Sports Category
Most all surf videos you see on the internet these days are uploaded to either YouTube or Vimeo. Vimeo has taken their videos to the next level by creating the Vimeo Festival + Awards. An annual event that started in 2010, it is a multi-day event here in New York city with workshops, talks, screenings, and you guessed it, awards. This year Vimeo has added Action Sports to the list of categories and in the pool of nominees are two really cool surf videos. More »

WhiskeyMilitia Surf Day
WhiskeyMilitia.com is definitely the best website for buying quality gear for super cheap. I don’t even want to know how much money I’ve spent on that site over the past three and a half years but that number is going to increase today. Usually on the site they have an assortment of surf, skate, and snowboard gear but today from 12pm to 3pm EDT, it will be all surf gear. On their Facebook page they say they’ll have brand new 2011 products, $20 surfboards, $1 wetsuits, and much more. I already saw some analog boardshorts and 5mm Xcel 5 finger gloves for $1 on there this morning, so who knows what else they’ve got for the rest of the day! More »
SwarmOn Surf Deal Website
The newest craze in internet shopping has been social buying websites like Groupon and Living Social. These sites usually offer deals for restaurants and services in your local area, but come Friday morning there will be a site like this with deals just for the surf industry. SwarmOn was created for surfers by surfers. Backed by Santa Cruz locals Robert “Wignut” Weaver and Kim McCready, the first deal launches tomorrow morning. More »

Being a surfer and a web developer sometimes I get to work on some fun projects for other people in the surf industry. Recently I did a little work for New Jersey photographer Ryan Struck. His website, The New Surf is where he displays a bunch of his surf photos and up until this morning the website wasn’t all that nice to look at. More »
Dane Reynolds Donates Summer Teeth Sales
It’s nice to see some of the pros getting involved with the relief efforts for the people in Japan. For the rest of this week, Dane Reynolds’ will be donating all of the money he takes in from sales at his Summer Teeth line.
