Freestyle 20X10 Special Edition Shark Watches: April

April 1st, 2010 by John Zanussi

It’s a new month and that means a brand new special edition Shark watch from Freestyle. This month’s watch is just as dope as the two previous month’s and really fits the month of April. In celebration of Earth Day, Freestyle has gone with a eco-friendly strap made from cotton, linen, jute and hemp without any additive chemical fibers. The strap is also recyclable and supposedly can easily dissolve in soil. Sticking with the spring theme and the rejuvenation of plant life, the colors they went with have a real earth-tone vibe to it with a brownish strap and a plant-like green face on it. More »

o.d.m. Watches

March 24th, 2010 by John Zanussi

Up until a few days ago I had no clue about o.d.m and how dope their watches are. A friend of mine had gotten one from his girl for his birthday. After seeing it, I immediately wanted one. o.d.m has been around for just over 10 years and they pride themselves on their original and minimalistic design style. Some of their stuff is super funky but a lot of it is really original. First off, most of the bands they use are made of a soft and extremely comfortable silicon plastic. You put the watch on and it doesn’t even feel like you wearing anything. I also noticed that there were no visible buttons on knobs on the exterior. Keeping up with the simplistic idea, o.d.m. has replaced physical buttons with touch sensors on the sides of the watch. So when you want to change the time or turn the light on, all you have to do is tap a spot on the side. Genius if you ask me. They have a handful of collections all ranging in style, color, and functionality, but all are equally awesome. There are some images of the watches that caught my eye below, but to see more and order a watch, hit up o.d.m’s website. More »

Freestyle 20X10 Special Edition Shark Watches: March

March 9th, 2010 by John Zanussi

Following the steps of Nixon and the monthly release of their limited edition Rubber Player watches, Freestyle is doing something similar in 2010. For 10 straight months, starting last month, Freestyle will be releasing a limited number of brand new Shark watches. Each watch will be styled in a way that matches the month somehow. For February they used the Winter Olympics in Vancouver for inspiration and March is themed after St. Patrick’s day. The Shark watches are by far Freestyle’s most popular watches and have been around since the ’80s.  You can’t buy these things online and Freestyle is only releasing 500 watches each month, to a selective list of shops across the states. They retail for $60 and for a full list of retailers check out Freestyle’s website. More »

Nixon Newton Digital

October 30th, 2009 by John Zanussi

Nixon has done it again with the Newton Digital. How could you not be siked on this fine piece to time telling machinery. I rock out with the normal Newton but this new digital version just takes it to the next level. Telling time on the digital is easier then then analog but it doesn’t matter when they are so dope looking. You can get the Newton Digital in four different colorways from your local shop or Nixon’s website. More »

Nixon Pink Fluro Rubber Player

October 25th, 2009 by John Zanussi

October’s color of choice for Nixon’s Fluro player is pink edition. A good move by Nixon, giving that October is breast cancer awareness month and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC). As the previous two colors look, the pink is pretty fly. Good luck getting your hands on this thing, unless you know someone they are super hard to find. What do you think next month’s color will be?
