It’s been a while since we’ve seen a major surf movie from Billabong. It released “Blow Up” in 2011, but hasn’t really done anything substantial since then, probably due to severe financial woes. “ABYSS,” set to be released in March, follows Margaret River’s up-and-coming aerial surfer Creed McTaggart as he plays in the hostile waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia. Apparently, this is going to be one dark, trippy surf movie, especially since the entire thing is set to a crazy 10 minute song by psychedelic rock band Sleepy Sun. More »

The quality of this movie looks unreal and I really like that there wasn’t much surfing in the teaser and it focused a little more of the things you see when traveling the world. This trailer is about 6 months old but it is really sick. This will be Jamie O’Brien’s 3rd feature film and this one asks the question, Who is JOB? A lot of sites have said that the full WhoisJOB? film was supposed to be released in the Fall of 2009 but I couldn’t find any more information about it or a updated release date. I guess we’ll have to just live with this teaser for now. More »
