The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover completed Rounds 3 and 4 today as the world’s best surfers did battle with one another amidst building two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks. The opening stop on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast has narrowed the original 36-man field down to the final 12 with the potential to finish as soon as tomorrow. Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast Heat Match-Ups

The first contest of the 2013 tour, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, officially starts this weekend. With the waiting period set to run from March 2nd to March 13th we’ll be sure to see the world’s best throw down at Snapper Rocks, Australia. The preliminary forecasts are looking like there will be some decent waves for the first couple days with some more swell for the future. We’ll see some new names in the water this time around including rookies Nat Young and Glenn. All 12 heat match-ups of the first round are set and you can view them below. More »

Last year the world’s best surfers all arrived in New York for the most lucrative surf contest ever, the Quiksilver Pro New York. Late in the semifinals Kelly Slater had his back up against the wall to Taj Burrow and needed a huge score . In typical Kelly fashion, he boosted this huge air to net him a perfect 10 and move on to the finals. More »
