Joel Parkinson // ASP World Title Journey
Last year Joel Parkinson won his first ever ASP World Title. After finishing in the runner-up slot so many times in the past it looked like it could happen again as Kelly Slater was closing in on Parko at the last event of the year. This 25 minute documentary takes a look at the ups and downs of all the events that took place leading up to Parko securing the title and winning the 2012 Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons. Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico Freesurf (19 Photos)
The waves at Jobos never really turned on for the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico but during one of the lay days other parts of PR were firing. In fact, on one particular day you didn’t have to travel very far from the contest site to find perfect waves. Laura Enever Signs With Billabong Surf Team
Billabong welcomed Laura Enever to its pro surf team today just in time for the start of the 2013 ASP Women’s World Tour on March 2. Hailing from North Narrabeen, Australia, Enever is ranked eighth in the world at just 21 years old. More »

ABYSS Trailer // Billabong Surf Movie
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a major surf movie from Billabong. It released “Blow Up” in 2011, but hasn’t really done anything substantial since then, probably due to severe financial woes. “ABYSS,” set to be released in March, follows Margaret River’s up-and-coming aerial surfer Creed McTaggart as he plays in the hostile waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia. Apparently, this is going to be one dark, trippy surf movie, especially since the entire thing is set to a crazy 10 minute song by psychedelic rock band Sleepy Sun. More »

That Wave At Teahupo’o / Andy Irons
Billabong compiled this short little video with old footage of Andy Irons talking about his life-changing wave at Teahupoo. Propelled by his competitive nature, Andy paddled hard to block his brother from getting one of the heaviest waves of the day. Of course, Andy dropped in and raised the bar for everyone in Tahiti that day. More »

Mick Fanning’s Perfect 10
Just as time was running out in the quarterfinal heat against Ricardo Dos Santos, Mick Fanning took off on this bomb and was scored a perfect 10. The score gave him what he needed to take the lead and advance into the semifinals of the Billabong Pro Tahiti. Mick went on to win the event and we’ll have a full recap of the final day of competition later today. More »

Billabong Pro Tahiti Day 1 Recap
The waves may have not been as good as last year’s event but there was still plenty of action for the first official day of the Billabong Pro Tahiti. All of round 1 was completed along with the first two heats of round 2. Some standout moments of the first day include Adriano de Souza’s top heat score of 19.43, Josh Kerr going right (!), and Jordy Smith getting knocked out of the contest in second heat of round 2.
