Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Round 1 Photos

April 6th, 2010 by John Zanussi

The first two rounds of the 2nd event of the year are completed, so let’s take a look back at some shots of the first round before round three kicks off. The wave conditions haven’t been what we expect from Bells, but I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been interesting so far. Over the past few days, the pros have really showed us why they are the best surfers in the world. Even in 2-3 foot slop, we’ve seen nothing but spectacular surfing from the competitors. They will be making the call for Round 3 to start at 5PM EDT. Head on over to the contest’s website for updates and to watch live. More »

In the spirit of the upcoming “Clash of the Icons” between Marck Occhilupo and Tom Curren at this year’s Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, I figured I would post the heat from 1986 which is critically considered the best heat ever surfed in pro surfing.
