Another day completed of the second stop on the 2012 ASP World Tour. Once again I missed out on most of the live action since it’s right around when I leave work so if you’re like me this post will help you get all caught up. The waves were good again and unlike the first day the men got the call to get in the water first. They ran all the way to the end of round two and there are some very exciting round three matchups. In clean 3 to 4 foot surf the women were in the water first and ran through the entire first round.  The men got it started later in the day and made it all the way to the 9th heat of round one. Joel Parkinson and Sally Fitzgibbons Win at Bells

  In what was one of the best, if not the best, Bells event in the 50 years of the contest’s history we saw clean pumping waves for the entire event along with absolutely amazing surfing from both the men and the women. The heat matchups were close, a lot of them having multiple lead switches, and a few came right down to the very last wave. Giving it was Easter week, a ton of Australian spectators made their way down to Bells to watch and cheer for the world’s best. In the end, Joel Parkinson and Sally Fitzgibbons, both Australian, made their mark by winning the second event of the 2011 ASP World Tour. More »
