Kieren Perrow Wins Billabong Pipe Masters

It only took the first three days of the twelve day waiting period to complete the 2011 Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons. This event was easily the most exciting event of the entire year. The waves pumped for three straight days and the world’s best surfed their asses off. Australian Kieren Perrow, who made it all the way to the finals at last year’s Pipe Masters finally got a win at a world tour event after being on tour for 9 years by defeating fellow Aussie Joel Parkinson in the finals. Billabong Pipe Masters Wave of the Day

In a day of epic conditions at the Billabong Pipe Masters, surprisingly there was only one wave ridden for a perfect 10. Mick Fanning Withdraws From 2011 Billabong Pipe Masters

According to Tracks Magazine, Mick Fanning won’t be competing at the last event of the 2011 ASP World Tour which is the highly anticipated Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons. Unlike most of the world’s top surfers, Fanning still hasn’t traveled to Hawaii for the winter surf season and is still at home in New South Wales, Australia. The reason for Mick’s withdrawal is an apparent neck injury. More »
