Boys Beware: Carissa Moore Surfs Better Than You (And Looks Better Doing It)

The ASP crowned a new World Title champion on Friday as Carissa Moore (HAW) battled her way into the final against Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), solidifying her world title win, making her the youngest title champion in ASP history. Ok, so Moore didn’t win the actual contest (I guess now would be the proper time to congratulate Steph Gilmore for that), but who cares? That’s not the story here. Billabong Pro J-Bay Preview & Heat Matchups

It’s been more than 2 months since the last World Tour contest in Brazil but the pros have been busy traveling, surfing and competing in other contests. 2011 Billabong Rio Pro

The 12 day waiting period for the 2011 Billabong Rio Pro started yesterday. There was a solid 6 foot swell in the water but the contest beach was all closeouts so they called a lay day. Today is a new day and the swell has dropped a little bit but there are some good clean waves for the first day of competition. Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Round 1 Results

The first day of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach was yesterday and they were able to complete round 1 heats for both the men and the women in pumping 4-6 foot clean waves. Woman’s round 2 hears are in the water right now and then men will be in the water after them. Most of the world’s top surfers have been in Torquay, Australia for some time now and everyone is pumped for the second stop on the ASP World Tour to start.
