John John Florence Withdraws From Quik Pro

The ASP just announced John John Florence (HAW) sustained an ankle injury after attempting a full rotation during the Expression Session on Saturday. The injury forced Florence to withdraw from the remainder of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast. His Round 3 opponent, Adam Melling, will proceed to the next round automatically. More »

Mick Fanning Withdraws From 2011 Billabong Pipe Masters

According to Tracks Magazine, Mick Fanning won’t be competing at the last event of the 2011 ASP World Tour which is the highly anticipated Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons. Unlike most of the world’s top surfers, Fanning still hasn’t traveled to Hawaii for the winter surf season and is still at home in New South Wales, Australia. The reason for Mick’s withdrawal is an apparent neck injury. More »

The Biggest Wave Ever Surfed

The current official world record for largest wave ever surfed is held by Mike Parsons who tackled a 77 foot wave at Cortes Bank back in 2008. Hawaiian big wave surfer, Garrett McNamara is looking to take that record from Parsons with, what is said to be, a 90 foot wave he rode last week in Portugal. Videos below. More »
