New York Premiere of Quiksilver’s No Agenda

Quiksilver’s new surf film, No Agenda, which “features everyone” is making it’s New York premiere tonight at the Quiksilver store in Oceanside. On hand for the premiere will be New York’s own Balaram Stack and Hawaiian Reef McIntosh. The event is free, which is rad, and it should be a good time. Details below. More »

Surfing And Sharks

All surfers have some kind of relationship or stigma with sharks. They are the mysteriously fascinating predators that swim beneath your feet when you’re waiting for a set, the creatures that can smell the blood from your reef rash from miles away and the animals that have a reputation for being brutal killers, when they are just misunderstood and horrifically portrayed. If you know anything about sharks, you know South Africa is the hot spot. In June, when the swell starts pumping, the sharks roll in, following the sardines on their migration. Only in South African waters can you see a 2-ton great white shark breach the surface in powerful fashion as it bombards its seal dinner. More »

Code Red – Surfing Goes Huge At Teahupoo

Last summer one of the largest swells ever hit the shores of Tahiti. The swell was well-timed with the Billabong Pro Tahiti at Teahupoo but there was a day or two where the waves were just to gigantic for the contest to run. That didn’t stop a handful of Billabong team riders along with other big wave surfers from pushing the limits and towing into the massive waves. Billabong put together this 15 minute mini-movie that shows a full days worth of big wave surfing at Teahupoo. More »
