Mikey DeTemple’s SIGHT/SOUND NYC Premeire presented by SMASH
Soon to be legendary New Yorker surfer and filmmaker, Mikey DeTemple has spent the last 2 years traveling around the world surfing and putting together his latest surf movie. SIGHT/SOUND is now complete and it will be premiering for the first time in NYC tomorrow night along with other venues around the country in the coming weeks.
The movie features surfers Chris Del Moro, Justin Quintal, Kassia Meador, Alek Parker, Ryan Burch, Mikey DeTemple, Scotty Stopnik, Jared Mell, Daniel Thompson and Tyler Warren as they travel to places like Canada, Nicaragua, Bahamas, Maine, New York, and Baja riding all sorts of different shaped boards, logs, hulls, and planks of wood.
“I wanted to show how my vision of surfing has changed since Picaresque. As you get older your tastes change and mature. I really wanted to make a film that reflected change and make a film that people want to watch.” –Director Mikey DeTemple.

SIGHT/SOUND will premiere at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC on Wednesday June 29th. The show starts at 8pm and you can buy tickets for 15 dollars at eventbrite.com. If you plan on going to the premiere, make sure you get your tickets and RSVP on Facebook.
If you’re not in the NY area and still want to check out this flick, there are a few more showings on the East Coast and you can find all the info about them here.
Check out the trailer for SIGHT/SOUND along with some photos from the movie below.
