Winter Solstice in Australia

Posted on June 25th, 2010 by JZ

Up here in the Northern Hemisphere we were just given the gift of the official start of summer a few days ago. Down south, way down south, the seasons are opposite and they were just handed the beginning of winter. If you’re in Australia, specifically on the Gold Coast you know that with the cold winter weather there’s also been some excellent waves the past week or so.

Australian photographer and now friend of SURFBANG, Tim Crawshaw, emailed me the other day and attached to his email were the photos you see above. Looks like he’s really got knack for taking great photos and damn do I need to get myself to Australia on a surf trip.

We will be featuring more of Tim’s stuff in the future but in the meantime you should definitely go check out more of his photos on his website at timcrawshaw.com.
