It’s March. It’s still cold. The water is teetering on a limb-numbing 44 degrees. And while waves generally shift up the coast this time of year, this winter brought us only a few worthwhile swells.
What’s even more discouraging is the need for wetsuits. The mere thought of pulling on that thick layer of neoprene, “super-stretch” or not, still annoys me. It clips minutes off my time in the water. The last thing I want to do is waste time fighting with my wetsuit before I plunge into the icy water. More
So it’s been two full months since I posted anything to the site and that kind of sucks. Actually, it really sucks and I apologize. Between the holidays, traveling, surfing, work, and mostly the lack of motivation, I didn’t have it in me to keep the site consistently updated. Instead of half-assing it and posting here and there I decided to take a little break. But no worries, because I’m back and from here on out we’re going to have some sort of new content up on the site almost every day, like the good ol’ days. More

If you’re a football fan living in New York, chances are you’re probably a Giants or Jets fan. You’ll also know that tomorrow’s matchup between the two teams means a lot for each team’s playoff hopes. This is a surf blog so I’ll spare you my thoughts on the game but what better way to root for your team then by wearing a nice pair of Quiksilver boardshorts. Quiksilver has teamed up with the NFL to release a line of shorts that represent teams from the NFL. Up until the summer only two of the California football teams were available but right before the Quiksilver Pro New York started Quik debuted shorts for the Giants and Jets. More
PinchMySalt.tv’s Sterling Spencer is an interesting dude. His blog always offers up some sort of weirdly hilarious content in the form of words, photos, and video. Most recently he teamed up with Billabong and Verizon to put together this 38 minute surf movie featuring guys like Taj Burrow, Dane Reynolds, Jordy Smith, and a handful more. A couple of days ago the popular tech site Gizmodo posted a photo of what appeared to be this iPhone case that had the signature Van’s waffle sole as the backing. It’s safe to say that the internet went nuts trying to find out where they could buy it and I totally understand why. The case is super cool and if you’ve ever owned a pair of Van’s kicks you’d probably agree. The case has white sides with the waffle sole back and the Van’s “Off the Wall” tag on the side.
