Quiksilver Pro New York Music Festival

When Quiksilver comes to town next month for the Quiksilver Pro New York, there isn’t just going to be the world’s most lucrative surf contest featuring the world’s best surfers. Throughout the event, there will be eight straight nights of live music that includes 40 plus bands and artists. Some of the more notable performances will be from acts like The Flaming Lips, Q-Tip, Girl Talk, Interpol, and Taking Back Sunday. To wrap up the music event there will be a special benefit concert hosted by Kelly Slater & Friends. We’ve got the schedule and full lineup of acts below.

The music stage will be set up a block or so from the contest site so once surfing ends for the day it will be a short walk over to watch some great bands perform. My head might explode if the Quiksilver Pro New York gets any better.

UPDATE: The stage(s) for the concerts and all other events for the festival will take place in the empty lots adjacent to the boardwalk between Edwards Blvd and Long Beach Blvd (map). Also, the entire event is FREE to attend, so no need to buy tickets for any of it!
