This upcoming weekend is without a doubt my favorite weekend of the whole entire year. It’s officially summer here in New York, which means warm weather, warm water, and spending way more time at the beach then in the recent months. The only crappy part about this time of year is that the waves usually aren’t all that great, but the best part of hurricane season is right around the corner. Also, this weekend has so many good things going for it, one of them being 3 days of straight reggae music on the radio.

WUSB 90.1 FM, a local college radio station on Long Island, is hosting its 18th annual summer reggae marathon. 74 straight hours of the best collection of reggae music starts tonight at 10pm. This is the real deal of reggae music, not just the collection of hits every one already knows the words too. True reggae music fans will be quite impressed with the music, DJ’s, and the whole marathon. The crew over at WUSB including Massapan and Angela stay up for most of the 3 days and make sure everyone is having a good time so whether you’re at the beach, BBQ’n, lighting off fireworks, or just hangin’ out celebrating America, be sure to tune in to 90.1 FM on your radio.

The marathon starts tonight, June 30th at 10pm and runs straight through to Sunday, July 3rd at midnight.

Only radio listeners on Long Island will be able to tune in on the radio, but with today’s technology all you need is an internet connection and you can listen from pretty much anywhere in the world. You can tune in online at wusb.fm, listen in iTunes, or download the free Shoutcast app to your iPhone to listen.

So enjoy the holiday weekend and jam out to some tunes!
