Sublime to Tour in 2010

I can’t tell you how excited I am right now. My all-time favorite band, Sublime, is getting back together and going on tour this Spring. I’ve been listening to Sublime since I was a little kid and wasn’t old enough to see them live before Bradley Nowell passed away due to a drug overdose. After Bradley’s death, the surviving members of Sublime, Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, involved themselves in different musical projects but never hit it as big as Sublime did. Two years ago, they met with, now 21 year old, Rome Ramirez and started jamming together. Jump to the present day and the 3 are about to head off on tour, starting on what better date then April 20th, 2010. Rome has some pretty big shoes to fill and I’m sure the band will have a diferent feel to it with a new young frontman but I’m just stoked to be able to jam out to the Sublime stylee live!

It’s been 14 years since these guys have last played officially as Sublime and the band feels like there are still songs that they want to play live that they never had the chance too. In a recent interview, Eric Wilson said,

“Many of our songs have never been performed live, most notably our self-titled release. Songs such as ‘April 26, 1992,’ ‘Under My Voodoo,’ ‘Burritos’ and even ‘What I Got’ will all get their proper stage debuts.”

The guys seem genuinely excited about heading back out on the road and playing all their old stuff along with some new songs. Bud Gaugh said this

“This tour will be full of surprises, Sublime has never used a setlist. We will be performing songs off every album and will mix it up from show to show, never delivering the same set twice. We’ve also been working on some new material and have put together a couple of songs with Rome. We’re excited to introduce them, and Rome, to all our fans.”

I am so stoked that they are playing in New York, but I would have traveled anywhere to see these guys jam. Like I mentioned above, they are kicking off the tour on 4/20 and will be playing in 6 cities. Dates and venues are below. Tickets are available now on Ticketmaster.
