Moonwatch from The Emotion Lab

Okay, this watch has not one thing to do with surfing, but it is too insanely awesome not to share with everyone. Inspired by….well, the moon, the creative minds over at The Emotion Lab have created this one of a kind “Moonwatch”.

“The moon has been a guide and object of admiration and mysticism during thousands of years. Agriculture, fertility, tidal patterns, human behavior and many other activities have been linked to the different moon phases.”

“Moonwatch has been designed to establish a relationship between the moon cycle and a person’s emotional states. It’s a new concept of time based on nature which invites people to reflect upon and gain a closer understanding of their mood and daily life on earth.”

There are two different modes two tell time, both are extremely unique, and you can switch between them through the push of a button. The “regular” time mode is very minimal, only showing a small circle for the hour hand and a short line for the minute hand while changing the background from white to black for AM and PM. The moon phase mode looks very much like the actual moon during it’s different phases.

Apparently this is still only a concept and is in development, so you cannot buy it anywhere yet. For more info on the Moonwatch and other projects, check out The Emotions Lab’s website.
