The waves at Jobos never really turned on for the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico but during one of the lay days other parts of PR were firing. In fact, on one particular day you didn’t have to travel very far from the contest site to find perfect waves. Luckily for us (and now you) our photographer friend Mohammed Raoof got in the water and snapped the following water-shots of the freesurf sesh that took place.
Alejandro Moreda representing Billabong well during a lay day at the Rip Curl Pro.
The free-surfers truly defined the day. Unidentified charger putting it all on the line.
Beautiful water, warm winter days, and close-to-perfect waves are just some of the reasons why Puerto Rico will remain the Mecca of the Caribbean.
A perfect right draining through the inside section on the North West coast.
Free-surfer keeping an eye on the task at hand. Inside looking down.
Dragon Alliance Team Rider, Carlos “Chispa” Torres, from San Juan.
A little different perspective. Wide and out the back perfection.
Even under the lip, JJ cant find much shade with the clarity of the water letting light through.
Another unidentified rider, properly displaying tube technique.
Chispa at it again with another flawless tube ride.
Strata Team Rider Brady McKenzie of Florida, digging deep on this bottom turn just yards from the rocks.
One of PR’s best water photographers, Moncho Dapena, linking up with A. Moreda to get the shot.
