  Our friends over at SMASH (Surfing + Movies + Art + Shaping + History) are putting on an awesome event this weekend in New York City. “The Surfers Studio: An evening with Jamie Brisick” will take place this Saturday, Februrary 26th at 8pm at the Anthology Film Archives in the East Village, NYC. The first of it’s kind, this event will give us a chance to take an in depth look into the life of Jamie Brisick, a surfer on the ASP world tour from 1986 to 1991, a writer, photographer, and director. 2010 Surfer Poll Winners

  Last night on the North Shore of Oahu, the entire surfing world gathered for the 2010 Surfer Poll Awards. In it’s 40th year, this invitation only event does a great job honoring the year’s top surfers, both male and female, and also the year’s best surf movies. The show was hosted by Sal Masekela and Freddy Patacchia and was dedicated to the life of Andy Irons. SNOW Film Fest NYC

  If you’re a surfer who also skis or snowboards in the New York area, you need to get up on the Snow Film Festival NYC. Following the success of the larger New York Surf Film Festival, one of the founders Morgan Rae Berk, had the idea to translate the same film festival idea over to the snow and ski world. The first official Snow Film Fest NYC will be screening 24 premiere ski and snowboarding films at Tribeca Cinemas in Lower Manhattan. The event will run on November 19th and 20th. More »
