Today is the 7th annual International Surfing Day. A day created for surfers worldwide to celebrate the sport we all love so much. The Surfrider Foundation has had a big part in making this such a popular event in the surf community as there are over 200 ISD events held in 26 different countries. Celebrating ISD is easy and can be done a handful of different ways.

If you’re looking to get involved, head on over to the ISD website and check out the events page to see if there is something going on in your area.

Whether or not you’re already a member of the Surfrider Foundation (you should be!), Surfrider is offering some good stuff if you make a donation today. Head on over to surfrider.org for more details and to donate.

At the very least, you should make your way down to the beach, spend some time in the water, and feel grateful that you have the opportunity to enjoy the beaches and oceans.

For all my Long Island people, the Central Long Island Chapter of Surfrider will be down at Gilgo Beach all day today and they will have an organized beach cleanup at 5pm.

Happy International Surfing Day!
