Taylor Knox has been on the world tour for 17 years and he will be making it 18 when the 2011 season starts later this month. With that, it’s only right to hear the veteran’s thoughts on the Quiksilver Pro New York, that will take place this September.

Do you know much about the waves in New York?
I’ve never surfed anywhere besides Rockaway in NYC, so not really.

The NY venue has been put forward among you guys in Surfer Meetings for the last couple of years?
I’m pretty sure the NY event just got put to us recently.

While it’s important to have events in the best waves, is it a boost for the sport to again have that human contact with the fans?
Yeah, but people are going to be surprised with the waves if we do get the right storm! Also the people on the East Coast are really passionate about surfing so there’s going to be a lot of support from the locals.
