Hurley is traveling around the country hosting events where you can trade in a pair of another brand’s shorts for a limited edition pair of the Hurley Phantom with Nike Flywire for half the price. On top of that, every purchase you make will automatically enter you for a chance to win a Dream Trip to the Mentawai Islands with Rob Machado and the Hurley Team. Their first stop was in Santa Monica, California and a winner was chosen but they will be in Costa Mesa, CA on April 10th and they should be announcing more dates for the future. More info below.   Volcom really went all out this year creating and promoting their new Spring & Summer 2010 swimsuit line for the ladies. They even went as far as putting out a video of badass model chics riding around on motorcycles and shooting lasers at each in bikinis. With a video premise like that, Volcom could be selling anything and I’d be buying. Check out the video and photos of the new line after the jump. More »

March 20th, 2010 by John Zanussi

Quiksilver Europe just launched a massive campaign to spread the word on ways to preserve the earth’s most valuable resource, water. The campaign is being called “No Water Sucks” and it features ads that show what it would be like to be surfing, snowboarding, swimming, etc if there were no more water. For over 10 years, Quiksilver has been working, under the slogan “Don’t Destroy What You Came To Enjoy”, to protect its environments through different projects ranging from eco-design and environmental management, to awareness-raising events and partnerships with various associations. Now along with their awareness ad campaign they also have a line of “Eco Green” clothes and accessories that are available on their store’s website. For every product purchased, they will donate 1£ to water protection. March 17th, 2010 by John Zanussi

The team over at Billabong Australia has let their design artists run wild with a new collection following their recent surf flick. Dubbed the ” Still Filthy Collection”, it is a series of t-shirts that have been designed without any rules or constraints on creative direction from above and it certainly shows on the shirts. These things are a little pricey at $50-$60 a pop but they are printed on long line bamboo cotton and are definitely one of a kind. You can pick these up at your local shop or Billabong retailers. We also heard, that they will be releasing another line of shirts this August so keep your eyes peeled for those too. More »

Donavon Collection by Billabong

March 10th, 2010 by John Zanussi

Straight from free-spirited and free-surfer Donavan Frankenreiter, comes another collection of gear inspired by his music, surfing, and way of life. Donavan has always been known for his laid back lifestyle and soulful retro surfing style, and you can definitely see all of that reflected in his recent collection from Billabong. He went all out with the collection including all sorts of stuff, from cool retro looking t-shirts to acid washed cut-off jean shorts and even a handful of accessories. Donavon put a lot into creating this line, saying, “The collection embraces my surfing philosophy and the musical side of my life and everything that surrounds it. It’s a reflection of my life over the past 15 years.” Check out the whole collection in the pictures below and get more info and prices on Billabong’s website. More »
