Well isn’t this awesome? Taj Burrow posted, Fair Bits, in it’s entirety to his vimeo account. Yes, you heard right. One of my favorite movies, all 46 minutes of it, is now free to watch online whenever you want. Fair Bits features guys like  Taj, Rob Machado, Kelly Slater surfing on all sorts of things all over the world and was made by a collaboration of seven different filmmakers, including Brendan & Emmett Malloy, Clark Eddy, Brendan Hearne, Taylor Steele, Scott Soens, and Kieth Malloy. After yesterday’s video of a great white circling a boat off of North Carolina, I stumbled on this video which is a trailer for a new documentary, Surfing and Sharks, that captures what it’s like to surf in South Africa knowing there are sharks sharing the lineup. 2011/2012 Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Invitees

Tomorrow kicks off the 3 month long waiting period for the Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Contest. This big wave contest is invitation only and features some of the best surfers in the world along with a lot of the core big wave surfers from Hawaii. Since the waves need to be at least 20 feet to even be considered to run the contest, there have only been four times in the last ten years where the event has taken place. There have been some incredibly memorable moments since it’s inception in 1984 and hopefully Waimea Bay will see a big enough swell this year for it to go. Below are the 28 surfers invited to compete along with the list of alternates. More »

Great White Shark Circles Boat
